A massive operation to apprehend infiltrating terrorists is underway for the fourth day in the forested regions of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district. The operation escalated after a local woman reported two men in army uniforms requesting water while she was dining in the Ding Amb belt.
'They took water and headed towards the nearby forest area,' Darshana Devi reported, prompting a swift response to cordon off the area. Security has been heightened on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, especially along the Samba-Kathua section. Vigilance on border roads has also increased, as officials continue their efforts.
The multi-agency operation, coordinated by local police, the army, and paramilitary forces, employs modern surveillance technologies, including helicopters, UAVs, drones, and bulletproof vehicles. The operation recovered grenades and ammunition, closely matching finds from previous encounters with JeM terrorists. Locals are being urged to report any suspicious activity.
