Corruption Crackdown: High-Profile Arrests in Bengaluru

In a significant crackdown on corruption, Bengaluru police arrested an Assistant Commissioner of Police and an Assistant Sub-Inspector on charges of bribery, officials announced.
The case initiated after a complaint from a software engineer who reported that the duo demanded Rs four lakh to progress a cyber fraud investigation, leading to their arrest upon collecting half the demanded bribe.
Further investigations revealed additional arrests, including a Panchayat Development Officer in Ramanagara, a bank supervisor in Chitradurga, and Forest Department staff in Belagavi, all linked to separate bribery cases.
