In a major legal development, three brothers were sentenced to life imprisonment by a court for the murder of a woman in a nearly seven-year-old case.

District and Session Judge Amit Pal Singh announced the verdict on Tuesday, fining each convict Rs 15,000, according to Superintendent of Police Omvir Singh.

The tragic incident occurred on January 31, 2020, when the perpetrators invaded Umesh Chandra Verma's home in Sri Nagar village, attacking his daughter, Anshu Verma, and wife, Bindu Devi, with sharp weapons, resulting in Bindu Devi's death.
