The accused, who lived in the same neighborhood, reportedly lured the victim to his home where the assault took place. The incident was brought to light in May 2019 when the girl's family found her unconscious near the perpetrator's residence.

During the trial, statements from 12 witnesses and corroborating documents led to the conviction. Additionally, the court imposed a fine of ₹5,000 on the accused, while directing the District Legal Services Authority to compensate the survivor.
