Punjab Police have arrested Bajinder Singh, a self-proclaimed Christian preacher, following a widely-shared video showing him allegedly engaging in aggressive conduct. The footage depicts Singh slapping and verbally confronting a woman, prompting legal action against him.
The Mohali law enforcement began the investigation after a complaint was lodged by a 35-year-old woman, who visited the Mullanpur police station to provide her statement. Singh also encountered separate sexual harassment accusations from a 22-year-old complainant earlier this year.
Inspector Sunil Kumar confirmed that charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been filed, including assault and wrongful restraint. The incident, reportedly dated February 14, raises questions about Singh's conduct within his church communities at Tajpur and Majri.
