A 33-year-old chef was apprehended on Tuesday for attacking a police constable with a broken beer bottle, following a road rage incident in which the officer attempted to mediate, authorities reported.
The altercation started when the chef, traveling by motorcycle, had a minor accident and exchange with another driver. A constable from Banjara Hills Police Station, on his regular patrol, stepped in to calm the situation.
The motorcyclist not only refused to heed the officer's counsel but continued to argue and verbally abuse him before attempting to flee. In pursuit, the officer was then attacked with a broken beer bottle, sustaining injuries to the head, nose, and hand. A case was filed, leading to the chef's arrest, while the constable received immediate medical attention and was subsequently released from the hospital.
