Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled a budget exceeding Rs 900 crore focused on improving basic amenities in slum clusters, marking a significant shift from the previous administration's lavish spending.
Gupta, who also holds the finance portfolio, presented a city budget of Rs 1 lakh crore for 2025-26, a 31.5% increase from last year, with significant allocations for slum development and infrastructure.
In a strategic move to bolster tourism, the government plans to include the controversial 'Sheesh Mahal' residence as part of Delhi's tourism circuit, alongside other notable sites added by the Centre.
