In a remarkable cross-country initiative, two cycling teams from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have reached out to over 20 lakh individuals concerning coastal security across a sweeping 4,800 km stretch. This extensive engagement was part of a cyclothon flagged off by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on March 7.
The event took place as part of the CISF raising day in Tamil Nadu's Ranipet district. A total of 125 CISF personnel, including 14 women, participated, embarking on their journey from Gujarat and West Bengal. Their cycling odyssey is set to conclude in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, around March 31 to April 1.
Throughout the journey, the cyclists interacted with coastal communities, including fishermen, encouraging them to assist as vigilant partners for security forces. The campaign also garnered significant reach on social media, impacting 80 lakh more digitally, under the theme 'Surakshit Tat, Samruddha Bharat'.
