The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India and the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai have officially joined forces by signing an agreement aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency in public sector logistics, supply chains, and inventory management.
This landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed in the presence of CAG K Sanjay Murthy and IIM Mumbai Director Manoj Tiwari, seeks to bolster the auditing capabilities of Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IAAD) officials en masse. By collaborating with top-tier educational institutions like IIM Mumbai, the CAG aspires to elevate the quality of resource management across various government departments and public sector enterprises.
The partnership will harness IIM Mumbai's academic strengths to refine audit methodologies pertinent to logistics and supply chains. Additionally, IIM Mumbai will offer research, advisory services, and specialized training to optimize public sector logistics. To initiate this venture, a customized training course for 45 CAG officials is scheduled for April, aiming to endow them with vital skills for auditing logistics within the public domain.
