In a significant crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, two individuals were apprehended in Assam's Cachar district with drugs valued at Rs 20 crore. The operation took place on Tuesday, as confirmed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The Assam Police successfully seized approximately 66,000 Yaba tablets from a residence in the Raj Gobindpur area, located near the border with Mizoram. These tablets, known for containing methamphetamine, are banned under the Controlled Substances Act.
Chief Minister Sarma used the social media platform X to announce the successful operation, expressing his admiration for the police's diligence and commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes.
