In a bid to bolster community relations, Thane district police have unveiled a pioneering initiative involving a digital van that serves 741 villages. This innovative approach allows residents to file preliminary complaints without needing to visit police stations.

Adopted under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' seven-point program, the 'Aaple Police, Thane Rural Police' drive is a step forward in promoting safety and awareness. The van is specially designed to spread information on important issues, including women's safety and the prevention of child marriage and superstition-related crimes.

Equipped with female police personnel, the van ventures into tribal settlements and schools, employing street plays and animated films for public education. Superintendent of Police D.S. Swami believes this initiative will build trust and confidence among villagers.
