In a somber turn of events, the bodies of two young cousins, Anshul Meena and Divyanshu Meena, were discovered on Tuesday in an abandoned, water-filled mining pit in Bundi district. The boys had been missing for two days, prompting a frantic search by local authorities.
Anshul, 14, and Divyanshu, 12, had left their farm on Sunday afternoon but never reached their home in Basni village. Their disappearance was reported by Divyanshu's father, leading to a police inquiry headed by Circle Inspector Sahdev Meena from Hindoli police station.
The grim discovery was made after a search operation spotted the boys' slippers floating in the pit. The rescue effort, involving police and civil defense teams, was launched Tuesday morning. Authorities believe the boys might have tried to swim in the pit and accidentally drifted into deeper waters. A post-mortem examination will provide further insight into the cause of their deaths.
