Fake MHA Official Dupes Woman in Ghaziabad Cyber Fraud
Rajesh Kumar, impersonating an MHA official, tricked a woman into transferring Rs 33,000 by promising to recover her lost phone. The fraudster was apprehended by police in Ghaziabad after the woman lodged a complaint. Investigations are underway to uncover Kumar's involvement in other cyber frauds.

In a startling case of impersonation, Ghaziabad resident Rajesh Kumar was apprehended by police for deceiving a woman of Rs 33,000. Posing as an official from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Kumar contacted the woman, offering to help recover her lost mobile phone for a fee.
The victim, who had posted an inquiry regarding her lost phone on social media, was approached via a call from Kumar, who presented himself as Anurag Mishra, a personal assistant within MHA. Gaining her confidence by sharing specific details about her lost device, Kumar convinced her to transfer the money into his bank account.
After receiving the funds, Kumar vanished and blocked her number. A complaint lodged at Janakpuri police station led to a swift investigation by a special team, which successfully tracked and arrested Kumar in Ghaziabad. Authorities are now probing his potential involvement in other cyber-related frauds.
