Delhi Police apprehended two individuals implicated in a social media investment scam, an official stated on Tuesday. The accused, Suresh Kumar Gujar, 20, and Rahul Kumar Gujar, 22, are responsible for deceiving victims with promises of lucrative returns, according to police sources.

The issue surfaced after a complaint was filed on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, detailing a fraud of Rs 12.61 lakh. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outernorth) Nidhin Valsan noted that the complainant was convinced into investing through a social media group contact. Unfortunately, communication ceased after the accused received the funds.

A police team traced the suspects using call records and money trails, culminating in a March 20 raid in Chittorgarh, arresting Suresh and Rahul. Suresh revealed the creation of multiple social media accounts to advance the fraudulent scheme. Victims were initially presented with false profit reports to increase trust, subsequently leading to larger investments.
