Authorities have initiated an investigation into the illegal disposal of biomedical waste in Maharashtra's Pune district. The shocking discovery included a foetus and vestigial organs, found discarded in glass containers along the roadside in Daund, officials reported on Tuesday.

Ten glass containers containing the biomedical waste were improperly disposed of at a garbage site near Borawake chowk, alarming local residents and law enforcement. Inspector Gopal Pawar from Daund police station detailed the wrongful disposal methods used by the unidentified suspects.

An offence has been registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the unknown perpetrators, including charges of causing a miscarriage without consent and actions likely to spread infectious diseases. The police are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend those responsible.
