Father Sentenced to Life for Heinous Crime Against Daughter

Presiding over the case, Additional Sessions Judge Amit Sahrawat delivered the sentence after the man was earlier found guilty under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and charged with rape. The court characterized the offense as one of the most heinous, pointing out the deep shock it delivered to the societal conscience.

The judge expressed that the father's actions did not warrant any leniency, emphasizing the need to protect society by keeping him removed for as long as possible. While categorizing the crime as monstrous, the court noted that it did not fall under the rarest of rare cases and thus, imposed life imprisonment for the remainder of the man's natural life.
