Court Acquits Trio in Attempted Murder Case
A court has acquitted three men on charges of attempt to murder, with the prosecution unable to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. The court cited unreliable witness testimonies and questionable evidence, leading to the release of the accused: Rijwan, Naushad alias Pahalwan, and Mohammed Iqbal Saifi.

A local court has acquitted three men facing charges of attempted murder. The prosecution failed to present a watertight case against Rijwan, Naushad alias Pahalwan, and Mohammed Iqbal Saifi, all accused of shooting and intimidating a man in February 2018.
Additional Sessions Judge Ekta Gauba Mann highlighted significant inconsistencies in the prosecution's case. Notably, the recovery of a country-made pistol from one of the defendants raised doubts as no public witnesses were involved in the seizure process.
Furthermore, all prosecution witnesses, including the victim Ata-Ur-Rehman, two eyewitnesses, and two public witnesses, turned hostile, undermining the charges. Consequently, the court acquitted the defendants due to insufficient evidence, offering them the benefit of doubt in a case initiated by the Jama Masjid police under charges of attempted murder and criminal intimidation.
