The accused, Suraj Verma, was brought before a local court and subsequently detained in jail pending further investigation, according to police reports.
The disturbing event unfolded on March 22 when Verma allegedly lured the 17-year-old victim with gutka. After recovering from the ensuing health issues, the victim disclosed the assault to his father, prompting a formal complaint under the POSCO Act.
