In the Rajya Sabha, Fauzia Khan, an MP for NCP-SCP, advocated for institutional reforms to enhance workplace facilities for women in security forces. This call for change comes after a viral photo featured a woman RPF constable patrolling with her child strapped to her chest, following a tragic stampede.

Khan argued the image, while celebrated as 'Nari Shakti,' underscores systemic challenges for women in security roles, particularly as they balance professional and maternal responsibilities. She stressed that these women need proper infrastructure, like creches and breastfeeding spaces, to better manage dual roles.

Noting the government's aim to boost female presence in security forces where women currently constitute only 4.4%, Khan emphasized the need for policies that truly support change. She highlighted the importance of treating childcare as an essential service and urged for comprehensive support through systemic adjustments and infrastructure investment.
