The Lok Sabha was adjourned on Tuesday amid a tumultuous session marked by opposition protests over the non-payment of MGNREGA dues to Tamil Nadu and other states.
Minister of State for Rural Development, Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, faced backlash for his response regarding overdue payments, which did not satisfy the opposition MPs. As a result, the assembly session faced disruptions.
In a show of dissent, DMK members occupied the well of the House, joined by some Trinamool Congress MPs. Despite Speaker Om Birla's appeals for order, the session was adjourned until noon.
