The Odisha government has issued a directive to remove employees considered inefficient or of questionable integrity, aiming to enhance productivity within its workforce. An official confirmed this initiative on Tuesday, emphasizing the administration's drive for increased efficiency.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja communicated via letter to department secretaries on Monday, prompting adherence to a 2019 circular from the General Administration & Pension Grievance department about the Premature Retirement of public servants.
Ahuja noted that the directive—to eliminate those lacking integrity or competence—has not been fully implemented, thereby undermining its intended purpose. Regular review meetings were recommended to ensure compliance and administrative effectiveness.
