Family members of Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath, along with ex-servicemen, protested against alleged assaults by Punjab Police personnel. They ended the sit-in after assurance from officials of a meeting with the chief minister on March 31.
Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav deemed the incident unfortunate and promised 'appropriate action' while stressing the importance of not escalating it into an institutional conflict.
The alleged attack occurred on March 13-14 during a parking dispute, leading to the colonel sustaining a broken arm and his son a head injury. The family demands a CBI probe and police reassignment.
