The Peshawar High Court has rejected a petition from Awami National Party leader Aimal Wali Khan, who sought the creation of a judicial commission to investigate the Imran Khan government's policy of resettling Taliban militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Khan argued he was concerned by the resettlement of 40,000 Taliban members after international forces left Afghanistan in 2021, claiming it jeopardizes regional peace.
Though the court dismissed the petition, stating policymaking is the government's responsibility, Aimal plans to challenge the ruling in the Supreme Court, emphasizing ANP's resolve to ensure peace and security for the Pashtun people.
