Odisha's Disaster Management Minister, Suresh Pujari, has labeled the recent attack on his vehicle convoy in Mayurbhanj district as 'inhuman,' attributing it to opposition parties.
Speaking at a press conference in the Assembly, Pujari alleged that opposition-fueled road blockades obstructed his path and delayed relief efforts for areas heavily damaged by a hailstorm.
Despite the hostility, Pujari highlighted the state government's swift response, which included a Rs 20.38 crore compensation package to rebuild the district, where over 3,500 homes and 442 hectares of crops were devastated.
