Judge Upholds Ban on Deportations Under Alien Enemies Act
A U.S. judge rejected the Trump administration's plea to lift a temporary ban on deportations of Venezuelan migrants under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act. This law was recently invoked, and the decision has led to President Trump calling for the judge's impeachment.

A U.S. judge has decided against the Trump administration's request to overturn a temporary ban on deportations of Venezuelan migrants.
This ruling, made by Washington-based U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, has kept in place the restrictions under the Alien Enemies Act, originally imposed earlier this month.
In response, President Trump has called for the impeachment of Judge Boasberg, and a federal appeals court is set to hear arguments from government lawyers seeking to challenge the judge's order.
