The Odisha government has taken a firm stand against corruption, dismissing 120 employees and mandating compulsory retirement for 39 officials over a span of five years, according to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
In a formal statement to the legislative assembly, Majhi detailed that between 2020 and 2024, these drastic measures were necessary to uproot corruption and recover disproportionate assets. The government successfully reclaimed assets valued at Rs 59.47 crore from these officials.
The year-wise data revealed notable activity in 2023 and 2024, with a significant number of dismissals. However, the drive also includes notable retirements in 2021 and 2022, reflecting sustained efforts to ensure accountability within the public sector.
