A hotelier in Kullu, Aman Sood, who reported a group from Punjab for allegedly displaying flags featuring militant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, has been cautioned by Himachal Pradesh police for engaging in activities that disrupt harmony between the states, according to sources on Monday.
The authorities have also warned Sood against promoting enmity on social media or participating in media interviews. A legal case has been lodged against unknown individuals for causing disturbance under various sections, including wrongful restraint and voluntarily causing hurt.
Tensions escalated last week with reported altercations involving bikers carrying Bhindranwale flags. Subsequent vandalism incidents targeting Himachal Road Transport Corporation buses have further strained inter-state relations. The Manikaran police issued a notice to Sood urging him to cease activities that incite discord between the communities.
