A substantial cache of materials, including several M-4 carbine magazines and a bulletproof jacket, was uncovered as security forces continued efforts to neutralize infiltrating terrorists in Kathua district. The operation initially launched on Sunday evening in Hiranagar sector, intensified with additional resources including commandos, drones, and sniffer dogs.
Officials confirmed the operation commenced following intelligence that terrorists were present inside a 'dhok' enclosure at a nursery in Sanyal village, roughly five kilometers from the International Border with Pakistan. An intense gunfight ensued when the terrorists opened fire on the police; however, there were no casualties reported. The operation was led by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat from the ground.
An atmosphere of fear pervades the village following reports of heavily armed terrorists who have possibly infiltrated using the ravine route or a newly created tunnel. The region, previously emerging as a major infiltration route, faced a surge in terror activities affecting multiple districts. Community members, shaken by the events, continue to cooperate with security forces as the situation unfolds.
