In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police have apprehended three suspects involved in the theft of artificial jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh from a bullock cart near Sarai Khalil in Sadar Bazar during Holi celebrations, officials announced on Monday.
The stolen jewellery has been successfully recovered from a rented shop where it was concealed, and a mini-truck believed to have been used in the operation has been seized, police disclosed.
Surveillance footage exposed four individuals responsible for the pilferage as the bullock cart, laden with 19 cartons of imitation jewellery, was left overnight amidst the Holi rush.
