A 23-year-old woman is recovering from injuries after she bravely jumped from a moving MMTS train to escape an alleged sexual assault. The incident occurred on March 22, as she traveled alone in a ladies coach from Secunderabad to Medchal.
The victim reported that after two other female passengers exited the train, a man approached her, demanding sexual favors. When she refused, he attempted to assault her, prompting her to leap from the moving train out of fear. She sustained injuries to her head, chin, hand, and waist and received assistance from passersby who took her to a hospital.
Government Railway Police have launched an intensive manhunt, forming four teams to locate the suspect using CCTV footage and witness accounts. The woman's condition is now stable, and she remains under observation, according to Superintendent G Chandana Deepti. Authorities have registered a case under sections pertaining to assault and criminal force.
