Parliament Members Receive 24% Salary Boost
Members of Parliament in India will see a 24% salary increase effective April 1, 2023, according to a notification by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. Additionally, daily allowances and pensions for both current and former members have been raised, reflecting adjustments based on the Cost Inflation Index.

The Indian government announced a significant pay raise for Members of Parliament, effective April 1, 2023. Salaries will increase by 24%, according to a notification by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
The notification includes hikes in daily allowances and pension plans for both sitting and former MPs. This revision aligns with changes in the Cost Inflation Index.
Current MPs will now draw Rs 1.24 lakh monthly, up from Rs 1 lakh. Daily allowances rise from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500, while former MPs' pensions increase from Rs 25,000 to Rs 31,000, with additional provisions for prolonged service.
