A case of criminal negligence has been filed against two doctors at a Thane district civic hospital after a pregnant woman, aged 26, died during a delivery procedure. According to officials, the incident occurred just two days after she was admitted to the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation facility on February 11.
The Vishnu Nagar police have registered an FIR against the duo and are probing charges under sections 106(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, which pertain to causing death by negligence and committing a criminal act with shared intent, respectively.
While no arrests have been conducted yet, authorities continue their investigation into the tragic episode. The case has prompted discussions on medical responsibility and patient safety within civic-run institutions.
