In a disturbing incident, a 33-year-old woman was found brutally murdered near the Andhra Pradesh DGP office along Vijayawada-Guntur National Highway, according to officials on Monday.
The victim, Lakshmi Tirupatiamma, was a resident of Ranigari Thota, Vijayawada, and originally from Pamuru town in Prakasam district. Authorities believe she was engaged in sex work.
Police reported that her throat was slit, indicating excessive violence. It is suspected the crime occurred between 7:30 and 8 PM on Sunday. Officers recovered incriminating materials from the scene, located 300 yards from the highway on the outskirts of Kolanukonda village, Guntur district. Guntur SP Satish Kumar and his team, including forensic experts and a dog squad, are diligently probing the case.
