Delhi Police has ramped up security in anticipation of Holi celebrations coinciding with the second Friday prayers of Ramzan, as disclosed by an official.
More than 25,000 personnel are stationed in Delhi to uphold law and order. Around 300 sensitive areas are monitored through CCTV and drone technology.
In Jahangirpuri, patrolling has intensified. DCP Bhisham Singh noted the Muslim community has pledged to delay prayer times to ease tensions. Meanwhile, efforts to ensure peaceful Holi and Jumma are underway, with actions against disorderly conduct being prioritized.
Enhanced patrolling is evident across all police districts, focusing on known Holi gathering spots. Joint police teams are stationed at major intersections to curb drunk driving and traffic violations.
