The boy, identified as Bhavkirat Singh, was kidnapped by motorcycle-borne perpetrators outside his home in Seehan Daud village. His grandfather, a farmer, immediately alerted the police, prompting a swift and coordinated response.
Police teams traced the main suspect, Jasprit Singh, to a location near Mandour village in Patiala. A confrontation ensued, leading to his fatal injuries. The kidnappers had demanded a hefty ransom, and their arrest uncovered plans for the crime, earning the police team a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh.
