During Wednesday's session in the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur raised concerns over the delay in releasing the MLAs' Local Area Development Fund (LADF) and discretionary funds. Thakur criticized the administration for not allocating the funds promptly, suggesting that this could hamper essential local projects.
Responding to the accusations, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri stated that the LADF had already been released from the treasury, claiming that Thakur's appeal was just a matter of timing, as they were released only hours before his complaint.
In a broader critique of the state's fund allocation, the LoP noted previous delays in pension distributions, which Agnihotri countered by stating relevant funds, including a significant Rs 360 crore for social security pensions, were being processed. Thakur urged for immediate action post-approval to prevent funds from lapsing.
