A former kitchen manager from a five-star hotel in Nagpur, Shant Kumar, has been arrested for alleged obscene conduct in front of women. Police revealed that Kumar, a native of Karnataka, has a history of similar behavior, prompting the registration of another First Information Report (FIR).
Kumar was detained on Sunday following the circulation of a video clip showing him engaging in obscene activities while speaking on the phone and observing a woman near a jogging track by Central Jail on Wardha Road. This incident, police confirmed, is just one of many infractions committed by Kumar.
A second FIR was filed at Beltarodi police station after five young women from a MIHAN-based pharma company reported Kumar's recurrent indecent acts near Khapri metro station. Beltarodi police station in-charge Mukund Kavade stated that Kumar is currently in judicial custody and will be further interrogated with the court's approval. Police believe his mental instability, possibly linked to marital disputes, may be driving his misconduct. The Bajaj Nagar Police have retrieved incriminating clips from Kumar's mobile phone for further investigation.
