The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended an employee of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) along with a middleman for allegedly taking bribes in return for securing job appointments within the civic body. Those implicated were reportedly involved in facilitating appointments to roles such as Assistant Sanitary Inspector and Sanitary Inspector.
According to sources, the NDMC employee, identified as Puran, was accused of demanding a total bribe of Rs 6 lakh from multiple complainants. He had already accepted Rs 50,000 as a partial payment before being caught. The CBI responded to complaints about this bribery operation by setting a trap.
