In a bid to bolster the quality of life for gig workers and individuals in the unorganised sector, the Rajasthan government has pledged a notable commitment, revealed during Tuesday's Assembly session.
Speaking on behalf of the labour minister, the state's food and civil supplies minister emphasized the administration's dedication to social security measures. This formidable endeavour is backed by a substantial financial provision of Rs 350 crore in the 2025-26 budget earmarked for the Gig and Unorganised Workers Development Fund.
With a target of 2.26 crore registrations on the e-Shram portal, the minister reported that over 1.45 crore applications have already been submitted as of March 3, illustrating a determined stride towards fulfilling the state's ambitious social welfare objectives.
