In a significant crackdown on illegal explosives, Kerala police have apprehended a man from Tamil Nadu for possessing explosive materials unlawfully.
Identified as Surendran Muthaiya, aged 52 and hailing from Andipatti in Theni district, Tamil Nadu, he was arrested after police connected him to smuggling activities involving explosives.
The arrest comes after the earlier detention of two others—Shibili from Erattupetta and Faizi from Thekkoy. Through their interrogation, authorities learned crucial details about Muthaiya, prompting a police raid at his rented house in Kappukad, Vazhoor. The operation resulted in the seizure of 75 electric detonators and 20 meters of related materials.
