On International Women's Day, the PM-UDAY scheme saw a significant response, with more than 400 women applying for property ownership in unauthorized colonies in Delhi. According to a statement from Raj Niwas, out of the 432 applications received during ten different camps across the city, 285 were successfully resolved, with 101 women receiving their ownership documents.
The PM-UDAY scheme, officially known as the Prime Minister Unauthorized Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana, aims to provide residents of 1,731 unauthorized colonies with ownership rights. These rights allow residents to sell and purchase properties freely and access loans from banks and financial institutions against these properties.
Furthermore, officials noted that residents could have building plans approved for structural changes, making the scheme a crucial step for regularizing and improving living conditions in these areas.
