In a high-profile theft case, a man identified as Pradeep has been arrested for allegedly stealing 96 luxury watches, including prestigious brands like Rado and Tissot. The stolen items are valued at Rs 40 lakh and were taken in southwest Delhi, according to law enforcement officials on Wednesday.
The theft was reported by Sudhanshu Kumar, who claimed a delivery van driver took the expensive watches during transit from Faridabad to Rangpuri. Police investigations, which included CCTV and CDR analyses, pointed to the involvement of Pradeep, a Ghaziabad resident.
A police raid on February 24 at a Muradnagar showroom resulted in the recovery of all watches, with serial numbers confirming their identity. Pradeep was apprehended immediately, as per Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Surendra Choudhary.
