Delhi Police have detained a Kerala-based agent for purportedly arranging a counterfeit resident permit for an Indian traveler heading to Italy. The incident came to the fore when Dijo Davis, 25, was deported after Italian authorities discovered his permit was forged.

Following Davis' return to IGI Airport on January 25, an investigation was prompted, resulting in the filing of an FIR and prompting further inquiries. Davis revealed that he had paid Rs 8.20 lakh to Rupesh PR, who had guaranteed him travel and employment in Italy.

Police tracked down Rupesh in Kerala, where he confessed to his role in fraudulent immigration activities during interrogation. An MBA graduate, Rupesh admitted to collaborating with other agents to deceive individuals with fake overseas job offers. He also ran a consultancy in Kerala specializing in ticket bookings and visa services.
