An individual has been apprehended in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor, according to police reports released on Friday.

Police took action after the parents of the victim lodged a formal complaint at the Baruipur police station last Thursday, detailing recurring sexual assaults by the accused, who allegedly preyed on their daughter while they were at work.

Further accusations include the suspect filming the criminal acts and threatening to harm the family if the girl spoke up. The authorities have filed a case under the POCSO Act, and the accused will appear before the Baruipur Sub-Divisional Court.
