Tragic Road Accident Claims Former MLA's Life in Akola
Former MLA Tukaram Bidkar and another individual were killed following a road accident in Akola, Maharashtra. The 73-year-old was hit by a pickup vehicle while riding a two-wheeler. A tragic road accident in Akola, Maharashtra, has resulted in the death of former MLA Tukaram Bidkar and another individual. The incident occurred when a pickup vehicle collided with their two-wheeler at around 3.30 pm in the Shivni area, leading to both being declared dead at the hospital.
Bidkar, 73, represented the Murtizapur assembly constituency from 2004 to 2009 under the undivided Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Besides his political career, he was known for producing a Marathi film based on Saint Gadge Maharaj, advocating social reform and cleanliness.
The police have arrested the accused driver, Mohammad Sahil Abdul Shahid, and are in the process of registering an FIR. The accident happened as Bidkar was heading home after meeting Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule at the Shivni airport.
