In a tragic incident highlighting escalating violence, two Pakistani policemen were shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday. The attack occurred in the Jabukhel area of Lakki Marwat district as the officers were en route to their duty station.
The attack left both officers critically injured, resulting in their deaths at the scene, while the attackers fled on a motorcycle. Law enforcement personnel launched a search operation following the incident, but no group has claimed responsibility so far.
This attack is part of a broader surge in violence targeting security forces in Pakistan, particularly after the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan broke a ceasefire with the government. Similar violent incidents have been reported, exacerbating security challenges.
