In a dramatic development, law enforcement officials have filed a comprehensive 4,590-page charge sheet in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique, with damning allegations against notorious gangster Anmol Bishnoi. The charge sheet accuses Bishnoi of orchestrating the politically charged assassination to sow terror within his crime syndicate.

According to the investigation, the conspiracy was intended to consolidate Bishnoi's influence and instill fear among rivals, though his actions have landed 26 associates in judicial custody under the rigorous Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime (MCOC) Act. Despite the legal dragnet, Bishnoi, amidst Mohammed Yasin Akhtar and Shubham Lonkar, remains at large.

The brazen killing of the former Maharashtra minister on October 12, 2024, shook the political and security establishments. Siddique was gunned down by three assailants outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office in Mumbai's Bandra area, a crime that has led to intensified police investigations and operations against organised crime networks.
