Maharashtra is set to revolutionize its governance with the introduction of an 'e-cabinet' system. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Thursday that cabinet meeting files will now be processed electronically, signaling a shift towards digital efficiency.

In a meeting held earlier in the day, discussions centered around implementing the 'e-cabinet' on the lines of the current e-office system. According to an official statement, proposal drafts for cabinet meetings will be provided on tablets, significantly curbing paper use.

The initiative ensures that all state file movements occur digitally, as already seen with other documents, Fadnavis explained. While the transition period will allow for a hybrid model with some continued paper use, the goal is to fully implement the electronic system. The cabinet also paid homage to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who recently passed away.
