Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraaj, declared a hunger strike on Thursday at the iconic Gandhi Maidan, demanding the cancellation of the recently held Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam. His announcement aligns with an ongoing protest by candidates alleging corruption.
Kishor's demands include not only the cancellation and retesting of the exam but also action against officials accused of selling positions that were meant to be filled by the exams. This declaration follows Kishor's warning that he would intensify the protest if the state government failed to respond.
Earlier in the week, a delegation of protesters met with Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena. Kishor had stated that he would give the Nitish Kumar government 48 hours to address the alleged paper leak scandal related to the Combined Competitive Exams conducted on December 13 last year.
