West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has leveled serious accusations against the Border Security Force (BSF), claiming it facilitates infiltration from Bangladesh as part of a central government plot to destabilize the state. She made these allegations during an administrative meeting at the state secretariat.
Banerjee insisted that infiltrators are allowed entry through specific border areas, asserting that there is a deliberate attempt to undermine the state. She accused the BSF of not only neglecting its duties but also of torturing women, demanding why these alleged actions have gone unchallenged by officials.
A senior BSF official dismissed Banerjee's claims, reiterating the force's dedication to border security. Meanwhile, BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar criticized Banerjee, calling her accusations unfounded and a distraction from her party's inefficiencies. Tensions remain high over border security as political narratives clash over state and central responsibilities.
